Well sort of. Still need to tie up a few loose ends and put the motor in the truck. After 3 years of a motor less syclone I am about to give it one more try! I do not even recognize many names from this site anymore!! Looking forward to talking with you syty'ers again and driving my truck again. Heres a few pics of the new motor.

Oh and I'm game once I get done. Just make sure you use more than 2 bolts to hold your tranny on this time.

Mine or Nick's??

The story about Nick's is short:

He bought it
He built it
He broke it
He left it alone
He rebuilt it
Here we are today

I was never missing any tranny bolts, I was running without the transfer case brace! Dan, are you going to be running a built motor or a stock motor? And about my trucks story, Dan has it right, but he missed the other build that broke too. This is motor number 3! I think I see a future grudge match between Dan's v8 and my v6 brewing. Any takers on the outcome????

I have taken a break from that to work on my LSx swap. Making cladding molds is not easy while living in an apartment. My wife and I are expencting a baby soon, and having cyanide outgassing from mold processing probably isn't the best thing to have around the baby. So I have diverted my funds to working on my truck until we get into a house, which will be around next summer. I have been collecting NOS parts though in the meantime. I have nearly a full set of unmounted, never used Syclone cladding and still collect pieces as I run across them. I'm not giving up.......just working on a project that has better returns for now..........and that's the LSx swap.

I'm going to be running a stock motor in the beginning. I've seen people do 500hp+ on the bottom ends with a good tune and a moderately sized turbo, so I think I should be cool. I'm more going for a fun, yet more reliable option for the time being. So my motivations are two-fold ;) . I did talk to George Blake today on the phone though and will be collecting the parts to do a 4L80E conversion as well so when I do go bigger power.......I hopefully won't break as easy.

Damn Nick I was just thinkin about you the other when I had mentioned to a buddy when you just destroyed Drewstein's Lightning a few years back. How's it coming along?
Dan, the LS1's are good for up to 600rwhp but anything over that is pushing it. Drew had about 640rwhp and was using his Vette as his DD and it drove great, this is with a D1 Procharger.

Yeah I've heard 650hp is about the ceiling before you can expect something to give. I'd rather say 500hp so it gives me a bit of room to breathe rather than living on the edge. ;)

Whatever Dan, we all know you like it on edge. That was a low 12 second truck too, would have run 11's with slicks.
