dumb lazy ?

i am too lazy to go try so i figured i would ask if any one knows it a turbolink cable will work as a datamaster cable? if you dont know that maybe if you have a datamaster cable if you know what the inside looks like so i can compare the 2 ends. i am guessing as long as the aldl hooks in the same spots on the cable end then it should work.

its not just straight wired connections from the aldl to the pc....chances of it working are slim.

Don,

Don't have my camera wife's got it but I can tell you my datamaster cable looking at it right on the same way you have it in your pic it looks like this

The x = blank or no prong and the p = a prong

so it doesn't look like there the same to me but hell try it out anyways.. oh and at least now you won't need that very inconsistent usb adapter

I'm pretty sure it will.... I have both T-Link and DM and I'm almost positive I've used my T-Link cable and DM together. My truck doesn't like to stay connected to Turbo-link very long... even though it was the developement truck. :roll: In fact, I think I'll try it later tonight. :tup:

fyi it does work but makes the truck want to idle a little higher then normal and gives a dtsc or whatever error is at the top of the datamaster screen.

by the way i am sorry i found out, i took it for a ride and a record. i know i am not taking the sy to the nats unless i pull the head off and see if i have a bad head gasket or a bad set of rings on number 5 cyc. looks like i may bring the gn out again. i have the motor i can take out of the red ty but then i have to pull 2 motors. i also have the motor i traded 12secondty for but again i dont know anything about it and was going to at least have the bearings checked first. i did a compression test on the sy engine all cyc have 159-170 compression but number 5 has 107-109. and i have blow by bad now.

Cant remember what wires but I went through the high idle with turbolink when I first got it. I talked to a guy at turbolink about it and he said it was putting the computer in aldl mode which you should not drive in that mode. Some cars require that ours doesnt. He told me to take apart one of the commectors and cut a wire or two. If I remember I can try and check tomorrow or maybe someone on the board did it. I may have posted something on the old board about that at one time also.
