Truck is in the process of going back together now. Once it is back together i want to get rid of it. Have just put to much into the truck and im really tired of going into debit for the truck.

My question is the truck worth more putting in back together and getting a 10sec pass and then selling or just get it tuned and then sell it? A couple people have told me if it is a 10sec truck u might be able to get close to 20k for it Im only looking to get 18k for it after i put it back together. Is it worth more to people if it is a legit 10sec truck and still a show stopper or is it better to just leave it alone and let someone else try to hook it and go into the 10s?

some pics for some people to check out

in the pic the truck has no ac but when the MPE fab header were made the ac compressor fits again the GT74 was to big to clear the AC

IMO you don't necessairly have to run a 10 sec timeslip, but it sure would help if you had a either a dyno or even 11 second timeslip taking it easy and enough MPH for 10's. Their are too many trucks with a 10 sec catalog of parts but they could be beaten by a stock turbo class Syclone due to the tune.

Re: Possible Value of Modded Sy

i would love to get 18,5k for it the way it sits to the guys that are interested i have tons of money in parts in it. But just didnt know if i need to run 10s for everyone to see it is a 10 sec truck and get close to the 20k mark for it. Truthfully my problem with going out and beating on it and trying to get it to hook im afraid i might break something and be back to square one again. You just get so frustrated building these truck and watching them break on the dyno and watching them break at the track. I had the truck down for 2 1/2 years and got it back up and running early in the summer last year and it broke again around aug of 06 and has been sitting since then. All back together and i just dont want to go through the agg of it coming apart again. pm me anyone interested for more photos and info

Truthfully guys with a 35,000 syclone are getting 14,000-15,000 mint. This truck is mint inside and out. Of course the mod list is no stranger to me. That is 10-15,000 additional money built ontop of the orginal price but it is built for longevitiy and durabliity. If asnd when i sell my truck i will be asking about 20,000 and it will be one of the few 10 sec Typhoon out on the street today running for the last 2 years almost. I must have 30 passes @ the track on the basic tune from Harry Anderson and still going.

23-24,000 is reasonable at the least.

I got over 15,000 into my engine and ecm system not counting front coil-overs, brakes, rear springs, QA1 adjustable shocks, 1/2 shafts, tranny, converter.

You are right Dean

If I remember right you are 'Pay Your Bill' Hardifier.

From what I have hear you have blown up 2 engines, rumor has the the last one being a Bowtie block. I would find a new tuner.

With someone like Harry tuning and Ed Hess/Phil Long atttention to traction, I bet this truck probably could run low 10 even high 9's. However you won't do that regularly on a 700R4. Quite a few of us have a bunch of money in to 700R4 and invested it before 4L80E's were available. If you have the McCoy double gasket conversion someone will probably want ot change that, but its $500 fix.

I personally don't think your truck is going to fetch $25K, because of the transmission but that is my opinion. If somone is offer 18.5K as is, it might a be a good deal for both of you. An easy way for you to get out and not spend another dime on the truck, someone would get a truck with a ton of potential and would make a greta project ot finish up.

Re: Possible Value of Modded Sy

Harry Anderson will be tuning this time. I have not blown up a bowtie block all though that would be fun. I finally did the 4 bolt sply and up untill then i had broken cranks before (3 cranks to exact). So then maybe to people it really would be worth it to able to give the buy of the truck a 10sec time slip with all those mods to shows the potential of the truck and to go along with the show look of it.

Thanks for the kind words Ralph

Dave,

I am going to try and defeat that thought that 700 are bad tranny's. It really is how you drive that breaks the unit. We just redid the clutches in my tranny after 2 years of beating it the only thing that failed was the 1-2 band. So while in there we replaced all the clutches and stuff but all the hard parts  . We are running in the lower 11's now and hope to be in the 10's very shortly with some more boost added. Trucks been to the track like 30 times and driven weekly.

I will let everyone know how long it lives.

Re: Possible Value of Modded Sy

I will have to ask about 700 though since we are on that topic, how much do you worry about it at the track?

As far as value it is hit or miss. Find the right buyer looking for and trusting your combination you might get what you want. Try to sell to someone that doesn't like the combo, parts, or ?? you won't get what you want.

FWIW, since I responded first with a concrete obligation to buy, let me clarify the parameters. I am ONLY interested if this truck runs again and runs well....I have no time to spend money on a pile of parts with a go along truck to put together with high hopes in the end. FWIW, I bought a screaming un-abused 2,700 mile MINTY syclone with about $12,000 in mods for $19,000 cash in January of 2006. If you find a buyer at $18,500 to take it as is, I will not be upset at all. I've been around the block.....trying to find a buyer at $18,500 cash (running) will be a chore IMO. This world is not at a shortage of tire-kickers, dreamers and joy riders. Keep me in mind if/when this Sy runs again while in your possession.

Re: Possible Value of Modded Sy

if i had the cash i would have this truck now. it is the closest truck i have ever seen to come close to matching chris's "junior1" truck in appearance and overall shape. this truck is beautiful and worth more then 18.5 without ?. hey dont you want a sy and ty for that truck the way it is? :) free delivery for that 5min drive.

Re: Possible Value of Modded Sy

Bottom line is that it all comes down to who has cash in hand and what will he REALLY pay / does he want that bad?
I have seen a total P.O.S. go $15k more than 20 other guys would pay just because someone wanted "it". Also seen real nice rides go real cheap for "whatever off the wall reason".
A lot of it has to do with time, if you are in a hurry or pressed to sell it, you won't get what your asking if it's "on the medium high or high end of the market". If it has problems forget it (I.M.O.).

Keep my contact information then. I am quite interested (although the last thing I need is another vehicle) but the money is in my checking acct. and only drawing 2.5% interest. My interest in your truck yields a higher percentage right now :).
