Plugs for Brodix aluminum heads

Would some of you that are running these heads please chime in with what plugs you use. Mine have AC Delco 41-609's but I'd like a hotter plug. A cross reference doesn't produce a platinum plug for use in them so I would like to hear what you guys recommend or are currently running and found to work the best. Thanks.

Man, I was hoping you'd give some input . I'll check them out tomorrow at the parts store. I really need to get educated on this DFI system but I have to get a manual first. I got skinned on what I thought was an honest deal but I will crawl out of it and get this Ty screaming.

Hi CKeith,
I'm looking at a set of Brodix heads right now for the Sy. Back in my old drag racing days we use to index our plugs... any advantage of doing that on these?

Indexing a plug is a good idea on any engine (to me) but i have seen indexers for sale (just a threaded plate) which will point them all in the same direction but i allways use the head and point it towards the intake valve (if it is off the vehicle)

O yeah did i mention that the parts store will HATE you after 4 boxes of plugs

Mmm...... index washers (but not too many!)?

just a lil addl input...start with the cheap ol ngk racing plug....r5671a-8...for your initial tuning and setup...the plugs come in diff heat ranges and you are probably gonna need to try a few diff ranges to find what your truck likes the most...just change the last digit of the plug # say a-7 or a-9 , 7 being the hottest and 11 the coldest. then once you find the heat range then start running the iridiums.. 1.70 per plug vs. 6-7 bucks for the iridiums...then change the bkr(8)eix to the corresponging #. hope this info helps.

Good advice... a bad tune will gork iridium plugs just as fast as regular ones.

Get your tune 90% there, then put the good ones in.
