Flow Numbers...

I was finally able to get the 3 different sets of heads I have flowed.
~65 deg., ~46% humidity

Looks like I'll be using the Pontiacs.

Mine would probably flow better if they had the go fast epoxy as well.;)

Re: Flow Numbers...

Glad you posted this! Tells me that the mild street/strip ported L-35's that Todd McKenzie does for me are pretty dead nuts with with McCoy's high dollar "Stage 3's" and with a smaller intake valve to boot!

Re: Flow Numbers...

Thanks for posting those up. The Vortec number don't surprise me at all, most of them I have seen start to level out around .500 lift. I have never seen the flow chart for the race head GM made. The Pontiac and 18 degree bowtie really flow on the intake side and at high lifts. The bowtie exhuast results were alittle surprising, they didn't flow any better than the Vortecs.

My ass. Look at it.
Re: Flow Numbers...

And those Pontiacs are untouched? Amazing if so.

What applications were those heads used anyways?

Re: Flow Numbers...

Both the Pontiacs & Bowties were purchased off Ebay. So I'm not sure what their previous application was.
The Bowtie's have had extensive port work done on the intake side. So much as to have sleeves welded to accomodate the pushrods & seal the intake port.
I would say that the Pontiacs have had work done on them as well.

Looking this at these flow numbers, I'd say that there hasn't been much work if any on the exhaust side of the Bowtie heads.
