What parts do I need for a FULL front end rebuild? ---

pppssssshhhhhtttttttttttt
If I do tie rod ends (4) and covers, performance ball joints (4), 2 axle shafts, 2 wheel bearings, idler arm, pitman arm, zq8 steering box, gilbert shaft, upgraded steering shaft, upgraded front sway bar w. poly bushings, and the RPM coilover system.

Is there ANYTHING I am missing for a front end rebuild (other bushings, ect)? I will even get new pads and rotors (just got new calipers recently). Then a front end alignment. I think I want to just get it all done at once and be done with it, THANKS ---

welcome...dosen't really have anything to do with the steering but since you have the axle shafts out... and the whole frontend tore apart....why not. :2cents:

Is there a drag link in the center, in between the tie rods / sleeves?

there is a drag link/center link.....but unless you totall f-it up taking the inner tie rods loose they don't usuall wear out. kinda hard to mess up the inside tapers where the tie rods slide into.

For all of your steering links ONLY use Moog Parts.

I agree, it's probably hard to mess up. But might be worth the $$$ for the ease of changing everything / cleaning / detailing. Basically, put everything back in new....

Its funny you started this thread. Next week i'm on vacation and am planning on rebuilding my front end on the Sy as well. Here are the parts I have already acquired: inner/outter tie rod ends; upper/lower ball joints; half shafts; new steering shaft; wheel bearings; and front diff (if needed) Its gonna be a pain in the ass but I have all week to get it squared away. I'd still like to pickup a ZQ8 steering box and new propshaft as well but not sure if i'll have that in time or not. (plus lack of cash puts a damper on it :( )

if you dont have them already why not go ahead and put in solid motor mounts, it is my understanding that most of that stuff has to come out when you do them. just my 2pennies worth

WHOA I AM LOVING THESE IDEAS!!!

I shouldnt need a front differential right? I mean when they checked my suspension last week they raised the truck off the ground and accellerated with no sounds "clanking" around up front---

Only reason I have a front diff is because my shafts have quite a bit of play where they bolt to the diff, and its a spare I had laying around. I understand you can replace the seals on the output shafts, just not sure how hard that is. That motor mount idea is good though, gotta get me them!

I personally would NOT do the axle unless you need them. I would rather have the factory axle than the typical rebuilt axle (with the bare minumum replaced) that you probably going to install.

Why is that? All other brands are bad for our trucks? Only Moog is quality? Wouldnt any of these be better than 15 year old stock junk?
