Wanted 2 People: long

The following 2 people are wanted for vastly improving the handling of my truck. The difference they made rate at the same level as the rear sway bar I installed when I purchased the truck at the recommendation of Mike Lee at RPM. These 2 sold me on the go-kart handling. I purchased the parts a long time ago and just got around to installing them. Don't ask me why I waited so long to install them, but now they are in. The difference is like night and day in the response and feedback department. So to anyone who has not made the change-- you should really think about doing it. By now you are most likely wondering who these two people are and why they are wanted. These two people are Mike Renz for the steering shaft (I got the shaft :rotf: ) and Spooldup for the ZQ-8 steering box.

I wanted to say thank you in a way that everyone on this forum could see how much you helped out a SY/TY family member as I will probably never get to thank you in person.

Yup both good mods that make a large difference sitting behind the wheel.

Whats sad is noone would ever know those mods were done if you didnt tell them.

Shoulda came with a quick ratio box from PAS.

Wow just saw this post! Glad i could help you out. The zq8 does make a huge difference in the way the truck feels. I can't comment on the steering shaft personally because i don't have one yet. Thanks for taking the time to post your experience with both of us.

Easy, minimal tools required. Less than 1 hour.

Re: Wanted 2 People: long

I been thinking of doing that myself.. I shoulda when I had the top end apart and the fenders, lower, basically everything besides the block out when I put on the new heads this past week. I suppose it wouldnt be that hard at all, only a few bolts. Thanks for the advice, thatll be my next mod.

Re: Wanted 2 People: long

If you are planning on down the shaft and the zq8 steering box, do them both at the same time.... and its easy to change with the motor in. I would recommend removing the driver side inner fender to have easier access to everything. For me, it would take about an 1hr or so to change them both. Including swapping the pitman arm (since I have the tools to do it)!!

and the steering box with the motor in............

It was really easy with the motor in. The hard part was removing the pitman arm from the steering box. I did the swap when I found the Idler arm and pitman arm needed replacement.
