What are the biggest wheel you can run up front? Without messing anything up?

can i fit a 18x9.5 or 18x8.5 or 17x8.5 or 17x9.5 wheel up front. also how wide can you go in the back?

What happens if you run a 18" wheel in the back and a 17" wheel in the front? Does anything need to be done to the rear diff ir the TC?

Yes, you can fit all 4 with the correct offsets and backspacing. Widest rears would be 11".
Nothing if you run the correct tires. No rear diff and transfer case need nothing as long as the tires are the same overall diameter.
If your 275's rub, how do you expect him to run a 315?
Part of your rubbing issue could be the 40 series. If you go 35's things will be much gooder.

i will be running 17x9.5 wheel on all 4, with a 275/40/17 tire. Is this an ok setup?

I run this exact set up with my Z06 wheels and they rub pretty good and I have NO wheel wells. I cant imagine putting a 315 up there unless you rarely turn or turn pretty wide. FWIW, hte thing mine rub on the most is the brake line bracket, I have plans to ditch it here soon.

I will have to look at the pics again, but I am sure that is what he had on there when I went to the GA meet last year. My 275s are not too bad with the fenderwells in. Not sure how some people get away with different setups. There are guys running 295's on he front of their C5's, I couldn't imagine that on mine.

I run 275/40/17's up front on a 9 " rim and a 2" suspension drop without any rubbing troubles... I do have coilovers and CBR brakes so that may slightly effect my lock to lock angle.

That's what I run on 9.5 wide rims.. I had to trim the a arms slightly though because on full lock I'd rub pretty bad.

I took mine out for room reasons. I hate cluter. I can reach many things with them gone. I dont mind the dirty too much. I just try to wash it as much as possible. All in all I like it alot, when I have to work on things it makes it sooo much easier.

My rims are oem for camaro ss but are identical to the zr1 wheels besides the center cap logos and they are 17x9.5 in size. The suggested wheel size for them was 275x40x17s so I've been running that size with them for the last three years.. I don't know tires and sizes all that well but I would think the same would be fine for 17x9 wheels
