Brake leak in the left rear

I got home from the gym today and looked under my truck and there was a puddle that had formed immediatly from my left rear wheel. The leak is coming from somewhere inside the drum. What would be the cause of that?

it would be a blown out wheel cylinder , but that means your brake pedal would be almost on the floor and the light would be on. it might be gear oil from a blown axle seal if its not brake fluid.

Easiest way to tell the difference is to hose it with water, brake fluid is water soluble and axle fluid isn't.

Yes, yes they do :rotf: Brake fluid tends to burn your eyes a little more then diff. fluid also :cool:

Oh, and they smell different :)

yeah but remember not to taste to much brake fluid because it will give you the shits..:lol: if you want to have some fun put about a teaspoon in someones coffee... then take the toilet paper out of the bathroom.... :lol::rotf::lol:

I've seen lawsuits start over that exact same prank. Generally we stick to just a dab on the rim of a Coke can to make it taste like, well you know.....

Hey guys, it only took about 2 seconds to figure out the wheel cylinder had gone bad. Not too bad of a job, only took about 45 mins. thank god this one autozone is open till 10.
