Could someone give me info on my turbo? how much power its worth?

i have a "te44 pte 63" turbo?. or so im told by the previous owner. Ive searched around and couldnt come up with much info. Does anyone know about this turbo? size? horsepower it will produce? where it spools at? it says precision & .60 on the compressor side and the turbine side all i can see is precision. external wastegate too thanx

yes ive been to their website and im still confused because the turbo i was told i have has 2 part numbers in it: te44 and pte 63. Is this possible? im not sure what that means? is one a exhaust housing and the other a compressor housing? im new to the turbo lingo.

umm I would think that's two different size turbos your talking about.. there's plenty of sytyers using pte44's in the mid to low 12's I believe.. Not sure about the pte 63

well i found out it is a te44 turbo that has a .63 housing. is this a bigger version of the te44 or something?

It sounds like a GN/Ttype turbo. I assume you have a 3 to 4 bolt adapter. The PTE SyTy exhuast housing .85

I found a receipt from atr that says te44 .63 850 cfm. the website is non existent cuz i guess they r out of biz so does this sound like something common they sold? or like you said just a gn turbo? my truck is in storage so i dont know till i see it if it has an adapter for the flange. Is this turbo worthy of 600 horsepower?

That pt61 in your sig looks good for mid 10's , and the 44 says mid 11's , just an FYI ---

I think PTE rates them to 585hp or somewhere around that. It will never reach that with a normal SyTy build, my guess it that you would have to really rev the motor to past normal limits to get their. If your making 400swhp with this turbo, your doing pretty well.

The exhaust housings PTE sell are for the Sy/Ty are around .82.

A .63 A/R housing is a smaller exhaust. In theory, it should spool better, but will cost you some top-end power.

There were lots of .63 housings for the GNs, but there are 4-bolt .63 housings out there.

The compressor can support ~550 HP, but you won't be able to make that much in the configuration you have. 450-480 would be more realistic. And that's with a good tune.

I've seen 120k+ stocker Tys run mid-high 12s, and mildly prepped Sys run high 11s with a 44. It's possible to get more out of them, but it doesn't happen too often.

it made 392 @ the wheels with race gas, stock ported heads, headers etc.. so i guess its maxed. the motor has to come out for rebuild so i think im gonna ditch the te44 for something a little bigger and ball bearing. i already have ported vortecs ready to install so im aiming for a low 11 second pump gas daily driver and i guess this turbo wont do.
