New shifter cable for typhoon: 870 dollars

My shifter cable snapped last week.


the local big chain store I had it towed to, quoted me $870 after taxes for just the shifter cable itself.


Yes, just the shifter cable, nothing else.


I need a shifter cable! - Gonna call some junkyards locally. Anyone here have a lead on an extra shifter cable if I can't find one?!

You need to call the shop and tell them to accept the package. It has your name on it so they won't sign for your shifter cable.

I spoke with him on the phone when he bought one of my cables. It broke inside next to the shifter. Bad story. He pulled over to help a stranded motorist. Put it in park. Got out to help, motorist waved him off as the problem had just been solved and they drove away. Huggles got back into his truck, went to put it in gear...*pop*. Left him stranded....as the other person drove away. He walked several miles in the pouring cold rain. I've been there. Sucked hearing it happen to someone else.:tdown:

Shifter moves smooth as butter now. Unfortunately the shop I took it to screwed up and now my console doesn't fit tight on the floor anymore

:rotf: Im sorry but that is funny. I have to be the king of this. I went through literally 5 cables in a two year period. I was getting them from Advanced Auto and they just kept snapping. You have to be crazy to walk, all I did was reach under the truck and put the thing in OD. Piece of cake. Since the shifter is broke, you just put it into park and start the truck and wholla!! its already in drive for ya. I had to get used to going places and not being able to get that great parking spot cause I couldnt go in reverse. Soory for laughing at you, I just picture you walking in the rain cussing up a storm. But yeah, try that next time if there ever is one. Make sure you keeps some spare napkins or something in your console to keep your hands from getting too dirty.
