i guess i put it in this area for the tunning part of it i am not really how all that works

i just got my syclone i am going to put a KB cold air kit on it for sure (i think  ) but i was think of putting an ultimate chip for stock injectors a fuel pump and a three inch down pipe(if i can find one) with a three inch cat and exhaust. so what am i going to run into. what will i need to adjust. will it affect the drivability of the truck. i just don know what i am getting into i guess.

i have access to a tech one if that is any help

i have a lot of mechanical knowledge and build high horse engine but most are naturally asperated or alcy injected but this turbo stuff is new to me

o yeah as if i couldnt make it any more difficult i am more than likely going to use it for a daily driver.

thanks for the help or maybe just the strange looks :rotf:

Welcome aboard. Many times these questions have been asked before. Most of the times. The search feature works really good. Walbro fuel pump is a good start. Js manufacturing was doing a 3" pipe but that gp was ended a while back.
Are you still using a stock turbo?

yes, turbo is still stock and i dont really want to go that extreme just kinda the basics. i really want to know what kind of tuning issues i am going to have, if i put these parts on but i have not yet becuase i dont want to have a nother tempramental hotrod i want something i can get into and cruise but still be fast

maybe that is crazy

but thanks for the input chelo

Re: What am i getting into?!?!

If you upgrade to a 3" dp be sure to port the stock wastgate. Stock turbos are known to overboost. Meaning that it will keep an inconsisting boost. It will be worse if you remove the stock cat. An aftermarket chip is a very good idea. Don't forget to get an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. A bit of searching for wastegate porting will give you and idea. Certainly something you can do yourself.
A syclone can be a very good daily driver. What you do need to know is what parts are prone to breaking and upgradeing before they actually break. The nice thing about turbo cars is that they can make alot of HP and not be very tempermental like a big cam high comp. motor. It makes them more streetable.
If you hang around here long enough. You'll catch the turbo bug. Next thing you know. You will want to turbo everything. Like i said welcome aboard.

Welcome aboard. Now the fun begins. I'm in the middle of doing just what you're asking, plus some maint items. See my sig below for completed items. Search helps but don't be afraid to ask. Just to prove my point do a search on my name and see for yourself.:rotf: Everything I know about Sy's I learned either by dinging a finger or asking here. You can't buy the help you'll find here.

Get Datamaster and make sure your truck is running right.
Get a Gilbert propshaft.
Get the tranny BUILT.

The main thing is to not knock your engine.Or overboost it.

The stock propshaft is poo.So is the tranny. Upgrade them.

IMO a DD Sy/Ty is super doable once you rectify the marginal factory crap. A high flow FP and adjustible FPR is mandatory. So is a tranny cooler. And make sure the IC pump is working. And your TV cable is adjusted right. And you have no vacuum leaks. ect ect ect.

Get a real boost gauge.Give it a complete tune up with good plugs and copper dist cap.Make sure the timing is set right.

Shit I could go on forever with potential probs. The cool thing is,once it's all squared away it can be a reliable DD.

My Ty runs 12 flat been driving it everyday for 6 years 75k miles. So yeah it can be done.

Re: What am i getting into?!?!

Theyre not for everyone. There is a board memeber who recently bought his truck and hes having a hard time figuring out whats wrong with his truck. Hes so frustrated last time I talked to him he seemed pretty bent on selling it. I didnt try to talk him out of it cause from the get go he didnt seem to want to listen any real advice. There are certain things you NEED to have. A FP test gauge, Boost gauge (like JIMMY said), DM also. Things like that. I would say listen to what people are telling you about diagnosing things and tools or eqipmewnt you need. I also would say if you re not into cars or dont knwo your way around these trucks, dont mod too fast go slow or youll end up like this other guy who probably has a minor problem but since he doesnt really know what hes doing considers it to be a catastrohe.

ttspowersystems.com

I wouldnt do a bigger servo. Blow the tranny up then mod it or build it better. Dont waste your time farting around with the trans already in there.
