On my way home last night from cruising around, I ran into a pretty decent group of cars. At the front was the turbo Stang I got raped by a couple weeks ago and two blue 6.0 GTO's. The Stang fell back a little and I got next to him at a light. I asked him if he wanted to go for it and he said ok. Light turns green and I had one of the best launches Ive ever had. It was nice. I had about 6 cars out of the hole. By the time I hit 70 he still wasnt gaining ground AT ALL!! He came by and gave me an oh well shrug. Then I turned off and went home.

I have seen stock 6.0 GTO's run at a track that is @2700 + altitude they run any where from 14.6 to 13.99 best I have seen.

Really? I've seen multiple stock 6 liters run mid-high 12's
It is usually the 5.7 GTO's that run those times.

Of course, you're talking with some altitude, plus the driver always makes diff. :dunno:

Yes really.

My friends best 5.7 GTO at the same track is 14.0 @ 99 MPH,his had the SLP loud mouth exhaust, SPL headers 80 MM MAF & Grannatelli diablo tuner. K&N Filter.

The best stock time was the 14.0 @ 99 ,after the mods it went slower.

These times are with stock tires, they do not hook worth a %#ap.

The stang fell back, then you got back next to the stang.
That's how I read it, & so do others.

The way you told the story, the mustang was ahead of the GTO, it slowed down (fell back a little) got behind the GTO, that sounds like it was slowing down to get next to you,,,then got next to you.

Does that what it sounds like???

A little proof reading goes a long ways also.

So the stang fell back and he got next to the GTO at the light.

Its a three lane road, the Stang that murdered me a few weeks ago dropped back and I got infront of him so I could race the GTO. There was another GTO next to me in the right lane but I didnt pay attentiuon to him if he raced or not. Im pretty sure he didnt cause I was bsing with those guys last night and he didnt say he was racing. Yes I have put that much. Last year I put 16k from January to Nov. The truck didnt run for about 2 months of that.

They have 245's just like the Sy/Ty's. It's pretty hard to launch a GTO well without bogging or spinning.

So I talked to the guy the other night and he explained himself and wants another race to redeem himself. He said the traction control came on and he wasnt able to get it up. I believe him cause this race was a murder. I told him next weekend if I see him out well go for it and maybe get it on tape.

When I raced my friends 04 GTO,,, he raced me w/the traction control on & off, it really did not make any difference.
Either it spun too much or the power was not applied to the rear wheels,same outcome, spanked him bad.
I raced him a third time w/trac controll off, same results.

Went to the track raced him there , same outcome.
Saw some 05 6.0 GTO same day at the track, it ran slower than my friends 04 5.7.

In reality, I have to think really hard to remember if I have ever seen a newer stock GTO run in the 13's @ the 2700+ altitude track I race @.
If I did ever see one it barely squeeked out a 13.99???

A mile is 5280. I am not at a mile I am higher. Colorado Springs is about 6200. Havent seen a stock GTO in the 13's up here yet. Half the SYTYs up here run high 14's low 15's. These are the ones iVe actually seen at the track. Donovan from Westcliffe? ran a 13.4 the summer before last in his 20g SY but I hear he has since upgrqaded turbos. The nearest track to me is about an hour away from the time I leave my door step to the time I actually get to the track.
