Hello... i just want to know if my o2 millivolts is to lean or rich this is what it gave me 0.93 on my scaner. that's at WOT. sorry if i asked this question i looked it up in search did not find any thing. THANKS
I have a OTC 3750, The reading is .93 volts, I am taking this in a hot day. Were i live it's all way's hot 80* to 98*. I do not have a wide band going to get one latter on. no i don't have alky.Quickstop [UK] said:is that wideband?
What scanner?
generally, on a narrowband using 1volt, the afr ratio would be 0 volts lean, 1 volts rich. (I think - I can look in the manula I have later)
Is that reading .93 volts or is that your AFR reading?
AFR = lambda where rich<= lambdam <= lean,
That seems like it is a bit rich, but when is it you are taking that reading? cold engine? hot day?
need a bit more info there mate.
At WOT you will want it a bit rich anyway to prevent knock and get a bit more power. You running alky?
yes I get 7degrees of knock at WOT .I checked my timing it's good it's at 0*. were should my degrees of knock be at? I think 7 knock is to mush.leroy said:.93 is in the normal range for wide open throttle.
Any knock?

I have a air/air intercooler from RPM. The harmonic balancer is new and the timing chain is new to. I am using NGK UR6 spark plugs. The EGR is eliminate. My fuel pressure is at 60psi with the vacuum off. I am using Shell 93 octane. I am at 18psi of boost. should i lower it? How do i check if i am burning oil?leroy said:Knock should be at zero, or as close to zero as possible.
Here's some things to check/do:
Make sure the intercooler pump is working.
Make sure the intercooler hoses/piping are not restricted.
Make sure the intercooler is full.
Check the harmonic balancer with a piston stop. (The outer ring often slips, and throw your timing marks off.)
Try some better gas if available.
Crank up the fuel pressure.
Use a top end cleaner.
Make sure you have the right spark plugs.
Make sure you are not running too much boost.
That should keep you busy for a couple of hours.
Make sure you aren't burning any oil....it reduces the octane rating.
Turn off EGR if possible.
HTH,

My truck smoke at start upleroy said:It sounds like you have things covered pretty well.
I would back off the boost to see if that helps with the knock.
Most people know if they are burning oil. Blue smoke and oil fouled plugs are an indication. Blue smoke on startup means the valve guide seals are probably bad. You could always do a compression test and leakdown test to look for other problems.

I will lower the boost a little latter on to day let you know93 typhoon said:My truck smoke at start up
I was thinking before i lower the boost can i use VP racing fuel? i want to check if it sill knocks with race fuel. if it dos than it's the knock sensor.93 typhoon said:I will lower the boost a little latter on to day let you know
