I would have to say you're 60' times would go up. I was just talking with someone today that told me a friend just raced his without a front prop shaft and the times without it were identical to the times he runs with it in. Not on the same night/temp through.

I was thinking if you had sticky tires also so your 60' would not drop off too bad.
Were your friends MPH the same?

as long as you can 60ft the same if not better the mph will go up and et will drop. back in the day there were a couple people doing this.. Ty's react better due to the shorter wheel base and better weight transfer.

I would becareful with the stock rear end in 2wd with sticky tires and 500+ ft-lbs of torque.

Most of the S-series guys can't get the little rear end to get into the 12's without breaking it. I too would be hesitant to run 2wd down the track with anything stronger than stock.

IMO, you'de be better off to improve your brakes, hold some more boost, and get a better launch.

I agree with Dave. I had my front shaft out for a couple of months when the stock one broke. Great smoke shows that led to a broken ring and spiders!

so, if you want to keep it 2wd, what is the best upgrade? which rear axle from what vehicle should be an easy upgrade?

U could get an 8,5 GM axle and build your own axle or order one custom build, the costs are not so far away..

I bought an camero 8,5 axle and had it shortened, ordered custom length on axles (Strange) and put in a limited slip (Eaton) and a good ring and pinion (Richmond) and new bearings with a C-clip elimination kit in my car for about 1200 euro (thats for the axle, labor work and parts) I did all the calqulations and instalation work myself the welding was contracted to a pro welder.

I had the wierdest dream last night, I was driving on the highway and all the sudden my truck just wouldnt accelerate so I pull off the highway and look under the Ty and my prop shaft was broken. some how I just reached under the truck and pulled it out with one hand, then drove off perfectly fine. I guess I just had too much fun last night, LOL.
