jwaller upgraded IC question

Quickstop [UK]

Combating adversyty.
Hey guys,

I am installing the upgraded IC I got from John Waller (very nice piece of kit) and I have realised that there is no take off for the overflow. Am I right or missing this part?

There is a drilled out hole on the lower front face (LHS as you look at it from the front).

I think that is a mounting point for something though.

John - the only reason I'm not asking you is that I need an answer quick (my car is in the gargae ready to have it go on ) and I know you're busy and I figure there must be a ton oif guys here that have one. If you're reading this then please answer!! :D

Anyone know about it?

thanks,

Mark

I threaded a pipe plug in there (no overflow). No issues all summer long.

ditto on the plug. the water in the IC doesnt get hot enough to need a vent.

plug it and forget it.

Whats that have to do with the upper I/C?

not sure but you want to put vents in the valve covers so that the PCV oil does not go into the TB or intake system.

I think he's referring to the fact that larger IC sits lower on the pass side valve cover and interfers with the OE PCV tee. I haven't personally verified the clearance because I have an elbow running to a remote breather, but as long as you vent the valve cover, you should be fine. Just do whatever allows the engine to breath and looks best to you.
