What is this line/regulator for? Big pics

I was taking a peek at it today to make sure my new T-stat was on tight and everything. I noticed a zipped off vaccuum line that led to a t off in another line. I tried to trace it and it ended up going into some typer of black cylindrical knob(?) that had higher and lower with arrows etched into it. Anyone know what this is? Could it be anything with fuel pressure or what? Thanks.

That is your fuel pressure regulator. The stock one has been replaced with an adjustable one.

Looks like someone had T'd into the vac line before and capped the end of the line rather than the T fitting itself.

I have a FP guage that was disconnected before I purchased the truck. Would that line ever go to the guage, or what? Sorry for the noobieness

No, the vacuum line wouldn't go to the gauge...

is that the vac line that runs to the map sensor? I can't really tell from the pics but if it is then that's a common please for people to T into when installing a mech boost gauge.

hmmm. Thanks guys. I don't have a boost guage other than stock, so I wonder why the guy would do that. only aftermarket guage is fuel pressure and air/fuel ratio, and niether of those are hooked up. Thanks for the input!
