transfercase out astro same as Ty or Sy?

i found a Astra Transfercase here on a junkyard, is this the same as a Ty or as a Sy, and will this work for us?

From what I've been told, the internals are the same. However, I believe one of the output shafts is different.

I read its the same, but went through the same change SyTy did 91/92 so 89-91 fits Syclones, and 92-94 (or when they made AWD Atrovans) fir92/93 Ty's.

reason why am aksing that i met a guy that owns a yunkyard, he is asking 200 for this transfercase, and my clutch in the Syclone is burned, if this is an R&R that would be so freaking weet

Like Robert said, the output shaft spine has a diff count on it so get the yoke with it.:tup:

I'm pretty sure that the output shaft is the same as a sy(28 spline if I remember) but different than a typhoon(guessing 32 spline)... Like Lloyd said get the yoke and you will be fine.. BTW I've picked up two of these(one from a bravada and one from an astro) from a u-pull-it yard for $75 each... Its a bitch of a job to lay on your back in mud under a vehicle held up by rims welded together though.. Prolly worth the extra $125 for them to pull it for you..

The only reason I remembered this little factoid is my Sy has a Bravada t-case in it. I was told not to buy a SyTy driveshaft part if needed.

"Just tell them it's a Bravada when you ask for a part."

he counted 27 spline, i think this it the one, for a Sy, altough it was labeled as a 92 Astro.
he doesn't have the rear prop shaft anymore, put prolly don't need it.
