What is a good/better IC Pump?

Hey guys
I am looking at replaceing the stock IC Pump on my 93 typhoon! i was driving it and when i turned it off i was checking the oil and damn the aftercooler was hot as hell! so i started doing some testing and sure enough the pump was not working?

So i did a search and found something about Johnson pump? but no link's or is there a better pump and from the sounds of it i will be mounting it by the oil filter...etc

please send me some info or links on a Replacement IC Pump

I got my Johnson IC Pump from www.detroitturbo.com
Works great, the only way to go. While you are at it get rid of the metal intercooler lines and switch over to heater hose.

Thanks for the quick response...is anyone selling a used one i really dont want to drive this truck with no circulation going throught the aftercooler...etc just need something temp!

Some guy was using some aereator pumps from Walmart that go for like $25, dont remember who or how long it could last but could be a good temporary solution.

lol sounds good to me. i just need something temp till i can save up some doe and get a johnson pump or an Air/Air Setup

Ive had the same Surflow pump on my Sy for about 8 years. Its a little big but its never given me any problems. I bought it at Camping World.:lol:

Any IC pump that works is a good pump Some have better flow rates (johnson being the highest, stock being the slowest). Its been debatable if higher flow rates cool better.

Um isn't your sy in the same condition as my ty, as in it hasn't driven in years?

All the guys up here give me shit, hard to break parts sitting on jack stands.

OK...so I guess you have a good point. :lol:

So in 8 years i guess the pump has about 4 years of use.:lol:

yeah i could be hard core and drive it with no pump but i would rather not...i will just save up and buy a johnson
