Re: What do you think? ON a SY.

Have you driven a cobalt ss they are not really a high class car/seat. they just have some go fast parts and a little diffent interior. I have driven both sy and a cobalt ss (it was a 2006 if it makes a diffrence) and I think the original sy seats look and feel better but my lumbar does work on the sy but I dont think the cobalt seats are not what you are looking for if you are looking for comfort IMO

Re: What do you think? ON a SY.

im just thinking to get a seat lower to the ground and have the option to recline the seat. The ss seats are only 200, found a set of vetts for 1100. so just tossing around ideas of new seats with out looking to gay and like a ricer.

also looking for a set of WS6 trans am seats out of a 98+ car is what i really want.

Typhoon seats FTW. Go with 93's if you want comfort. These seats are relatively low, its the floor itself that raises them up.

Re: What do you think? ON a SY.

corvette seats are worth the money but some people(myself included) can't afford them. What i want to do is reupholster my sy seats with leather, and put in a electric lumbar motor on and seat heaters in them and embroider Syclone back in them.

Re: What do you think? ON a SY.

I have '04 Vette seats in my Sy and they are the chit.

They can be modified for the Sy w/ a die grinder in about 5 minutes since they are already really close.

Re: What do you think? ON a SY.

uhm :2cents: but those cobalt seats don't look too much different built wise than the Sy seats. I'd go with Corvette seats, Trans Am or even go a little different with All power (both sides) heated & lumbar newer model leather Jeep seats with the Sy tracks modded.

Re: What do you think? ON a SY.

why don't you just go to the junk yard and buy some pos gm seats out of a mid 80's f-body and get the recliing mech off of them. then you will have the sy seats along with them being able to recline.

I really think the sy seats are comfy. they sit better than my gn or my silverado.

Re: What do you think? ON a SY.

Best seats I ever sat in were in my 93 SHO. 6 way power adjustable, including lumbar and power bolsters ("open" for daily duty, "closed" for spirited driving  ) Find some black leather ones or even 50/50 like mine (black cloth w/ leather trim- never get hot or cold).

Hit up Brandon on here and buy his brand new never used Corbeau's. He also has a set of sliders.

His are cloth, mine are microsuede. I love the seat, very comfortable.

You can see what mine look like on my website, his are same just cloth.

Yeah .... I've done this with S10 seats to Blazers .... It's not hard @ all. Just make sure you get the whole mechanism that reclines the seats (top & bottom parts)

Re: What do you think? ON a SY.

How are you going to recline them even with the reclining mechanism? I'm only 5'10", but have the seat slid back far enough that the headrest hits the rear window already. Reclines don't make sense to me unless you're so short that you can drive with the seat slid forward. :dunno:

X2. Unless your zach mann or Dennis, I can't imgaine needing reclining seats in a Syclone.:2cents:

Re: What do you think? ON a SY.

not only what Dave said, but why don't you just change the side hinge on your sy seats for a blazer/ty one then you can have the reclining option.

Thats what I came in here to post.

I am only 5'8", and I still wish my seats could move back farther ---

I wish my seat went back further & reclined in mine. I've ridden in a few different TYs & it's amazing the extra room.

Re: What do you think? ON a SY.

well the seats in the sy will slide back far enough that the back rests on the glass instead of the hinge stops.

The only way on could possible have a reclineing seat in a sy is 1 there are short 2 they love to be under the steering wheel and have their knees in the lower part of the dash.

3 they opted for a seat thats thinner in the back area to permit a small recline before it hits the glass.

Re: What do you think? ON a SY.

Get some 1993 "Fat Man" Typhoon seats and have the custom red piping added in. I've seen it before and it looks awesome!
