Front end limiters DONE!!

I had some time today so i pulled out the welder and some steel and got to work.. I thought i post pics the results. They seem to work. Need to get back to the Track to test them out. I made them adjustable for street driving.

the only thing i worry about is when you do reach limit, the stress on the arm is compounded for being so far away from the tire, adding more stress than normal tire and suspension weight and c/o spring pressure. Basically, i hope it does not fatigue it to the point of braking. I know it wont see that stress all the time,only on launching and the every so often time when driving it on the road, but i still would worry, especially since its welded to it and that anneals the metal. :2cents:

I personally would like them to hit softer when they are topped out. Like using a strap instead of a chain.

I installed adjustable urethane top out bushings on my Sy,they seem to work good & they hit pretty soft when topped out.

On the street i have them set to fully extend to the shock length . At the track im going to run them them @ ride height + 1" The coil over resistance slows the action down enough for them to not slap super hard. Again not looking for drive ability i just need to do something to keep this thing flat on the 60ft.

I do need new bump stops any body have the part # for the energy suspension ones or similar?

I still need to paint it and cut the extra bolt lengh off. It really dont look to bad in person. But then again its function first for me at this point. I want to run 10.oooooos on a stock block.

Do they make 10-90 coil over shocks,,,not 90-10's Or even more adjustable coilover shocks ,like 5-95'/infinately adjustable???

Just curious.

well straps are what i have suggested to people in the past. i am going to run them on my shock bolts, on the outside of the mount. just buying a slightly longer bolt to accommodate.

Straps are stretchy and give more and you have to account for that stretch, usually about 1".

so if at ride height you want only 1.5 inches of droop and your shock has 10" of distance between the eyes, get a 10" strap and you should be real close to desired droop. put the strap on, jack up the truck and measure the distance from tire to fender and compare that distance to your ride height from tire to fender. quite easy, no welding, and it looks clean. its what i do on my off road trucks and have NEVER had a problem, including my 4x4 a-arm truck with cv's. cant have cv bind at 100 mph, shit breaks.

Do you mean tailgate straps? I would love to see some pics when you get this done.:D

I dont know if he can run the bolt style like us considering his bump stop might either not be there or in the same location on tubular a arms..?

A good coil over shock can be customed valved to what ever settings you want/need. But a shock is to control the speed of the movement not limit or stop it . Limiters are the best option for our application:2cents:.

If anybody wants limiting straps at whatever length,i get a deal on them through my buddies race shop :2cents: just pm me and i can easily walk you through measuring length. they come in 1" increments.
