I have seen the Sonoma GT decal set on Ebay in the past, they don't seem to be on there continuously such as the Typhoon ones though...

Re: Typoon and Syclone Logos

What the heck...they make the Ty ones in "speed" style, and make this crap for the SGT? Not cool...I swear I saw the proper looking decals on Ebay in the past...there HAS to be a source for them...

guess they consider the SGT the bastard brother & said it's not worth producing them remotely accurate . I found everything basically now that I need but the SGT stickers ... even the actual plastic GMC Truck badge for the tailgate .... guess I'll jus' have to have them special made @ vinyl shop based off a scanned pic or airbrushed on but I guess it might be cool to get them Teal vs red .... kinda 1 off.

I'll post this for the 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 time since no one knows how to do a bit of research.

Graphik Concepts - The people who originally made the decals. They do custom colors if you ask.

www.graphikconcepts.com

There are also people on here who offer up 2 piece reproductions as well in vinyl.... user GaugePower seems to make some nice ones, he even does reflective and his prices are cheaper than Graphik Concepts.

Re: Typoon and Syclone Logos

thanks Syo237 & sorry I asked but I'm kinda new to where to get parts & stuff for these trucks. I also wanted to be able to see an actual reproduction logo vs a cheap knock off like the ebay 1. You've been helpful ;)

Re: Typoon and Syclone Logos

There are some real or so they claim real ones on ebay right now they are $250 lol.
We make decals for a living and there is no difference between what your calling a knock off and the factory item if there made to the right sizes and with good vinyls. The cheap ones on ebay are not made with the good vinyls just so everyone knows :)

There is a difference if Graphik Concepts is using the original artwork direct from GM and were/still are the OEM supplier making one piece vinyl while you are using downloaded artwork from the internet (recreated by someone outside of GM) to make your vinyl cuts.

What you are doing will never be OEM, as I don't see them releasing those art files anytime soon. What you have from Brandsoftheworld is not OEM art.

If the factory decals are One Piece decal they are printed and not really even vinyl and hence the reason so many Trucks I have looked at have very faded and or cracked logos on them. I didnt pay enough attention to notice if they were 1 piece or not. The other thing is that they didnt even start doing printed vinyl logos until 2003 and even then it was not widely used by OE's do them not lasting more than 1 to 2 years. Ive been doing this since 2002 and even the ford Lightnings in 95 had Die cut logos on them as did most if they were not stamped plastic or metal. Im half temped to buy the 250$ ones now to see what they are. As Avery graphics didnt start making printed vinyl that would hold ink till 2006
See your not talking to some dumb butt person that doesnt know any thing about this stuff. Im not here to argue with anyone Im just giving you the facts. Now either they guy claiming he has Factory graphics and really dosnt but they look like the ones that would have been on the line installed as the trucks went together as they have the lines to show where they go on the truck. They are most definitely not printed or 1 piece as 1 piece decals dont get transfertaped and after looking at them close (Down load the photos from gay bay) they are made the same as the others 2 colors of vinyl

Regardless of the way they were printed, one piece or two, you still do not have the original art. That's the important part.

the EBAY things DO NOT look like this!!! I Highly Doubt the chic who once owned this truck or previous owners ever replace the graphics. I Would Not Replace them with Anything Less Than These Graphics!!!

I know you probably can not tell but my graphics or whatever you'd like to call them Are Not Smooth Edged like the EBAY junk I found in the link below. If I wanted smoothed sleek vs speed worn aged designed graphics like the original creator made I think I'd save my :2cents: for a Ty that came PAS OEM with the Sleek kind.

Oh BTW I can have these made in vinyl from a photo scanned pic & any color I so choose to go with but I just wanted to find out about buying them online

Sounds like the moral of the story is to buy the original art, from graphic concepts. Hope it wouldn't be as much as the OEM ones on Ebay, they are most likley that much for the fact that they are genuine survivors not yet stuck on a truck? And yeah, the Ebay ones are probably garbage quality wise in long term no matter how good the art is because they are only 50 bucks.

Thanks. The original thread was for SyTy but I figured I'd ask & I've got all the info but you can keep us updated

Re: Typoon and Syclone Logos

if someone wants reproduction sonoma GT graphics, and has an original decals to send me, I'll gladly have them all done and up for sale within a week...I dont have the original grpahics, and I wont trust anyone else's vector since I havent seen true OEM SGT decals myself. If someone has a set to send to me I can clone them. I can even send them back to you if you still need them. I just need them to make the vectors.

Also as for what vinyl I use... I use either 6 or 9 year Avery vinyl, only the best.... 7yr for the reflective. the vinyl will last way longer than what its rated to last if you take care of it.

I only skimmed through the topic... if someone needs graphics, im available.. i'm in a financial rut and could use the business. My graphics are two layer, not one layer like oem... but to be honest you cant tell the difference from an oem unless you touch it. My designs are spot on too... since I used 1200DPI scans of original decals to vectorize with, also im kind of a perfectionist lol.

My pricing is competitive as well. Why spend 250 on originals if you can get ones that look exactly the same for 60? Only spend the 250 if you have something like... the last 93 typhoon or a low miles 10k on the odometer truck...otherwise its not really worth it imo... plus you get more freedom with color with my repros.

Let me know, Im broke and need to rebuild my only DD's motor (a 93 ty of all things to have as a DD :squint: )
