Re: Syclone #1900 - Project Resurrection...++

looks killer. let us know the different numbers when you can. i am sure everyone would like to know the difference between the intakes. either way, it will be a beast.

Will do.....I'm also planning on doing the 2wd dyno....as well as the AWD dyno because I've always been a little curious as to what the difference is. Granted....it probably won't be the greatest way to do it being that I'll be doing it with two different 4L80e's. But I figure what the hell.

That's the Vintage Air Front Runner setup. Main reason that I went with it as opposed to some of the more flashier ones was they were the only one's that could tell me that the belt system was good for more rpm's that I planned on turning.

That is awesome! What kinda hp you exspecting?

I started out building this thing with a goal of 1500 at the crank. We'll just have to see where it goes from there. I'm actually more worried about how I'm going to get everything planted and suspension tuned than I am the power of the motor. I feel pretty good about the power the motor will make.....but I'm definitely lacking the knowlegde on setting up suspensions. I'm guessing I'll be making good use of the car hauler and Cummins going back and forth to the track once it's together....lol. I would imagine that we'll get the motor tuned for max power......and then I'll have to back the boost way down and start working with the suspension....and just gradually work my way up. At least that's more or less the plan.

I assume by the blocked off firewall you are going with a complete Vintage Air A/C setup? If so, what kit or parts are you planning to use? I had decided to go without A/C on my bowtie build just to clean up the engine bay clutter but I would prefer to have air for those hot days.

thanks,

There was definitely no way I was going to have a street truck in Texas without a/c. But you are correct. I'm running the complete Vintage Air setup. The kit that holds everything else is the "Mini Gen II". It's a nice compact unit. I'll take pics of the mock up unit that I bought (you can buy for 50.00 from any VA dealer) and mounted into the truck. It all fits just fine up under the dash and everything. I've actually been in another ride that was running the same system....and it's really nice. Blows really hard and cold. I'll try to get those pics tonight.

Hey 1BADV6.....I apologize for not getting this when you originally asked for it. I just had a brain fart and totally forgot. I was looking back at this thread a couple of days ago and got reminded...lol. My bad. Anyway...here are some pics of the mock up unit. Sorry for the crappy pics...but forgot the camera and had to take it with the iphone..... But you can kind of see where the ducts and connections are simulated.

Re: Syclone #1900 - Project Resurrection...++

does that fit behind the dash w/o cutting the dash at all? or will you have to trim the dash to fit

Mike...the dash doesn't get touched at all. You lose a support bracket....but the air box becomes that support bracket (you see the mounting hole in front). The vent door on the body is removed and that's about it. But the dash doesn't get cut at all. We are having to custom graph the vents and that kind of stuff.....but I already knew that was going to happen. We're going to use the factory vents in the dash....but they will have to get modified to fit the vent hoses to them. Clear as mud...right? :) Guess I should have taken pics with the dash in place....but then you couldn't see the box. But I have already had the dash mounted in place with the box in as well.....

Re: Syclone #1900 - Project Resurrection...++

Thanks for the update, I had forgotten all about this :) I'm pretty sure this is the route I will take with my Bowtie truck, it's really looks clean and compact. How about the rest of the AC components, what do they look like? How large is the condenser? Is your BS3 mounted permanent or is it easily removable?

thanks again,

My BS3 is bolted in on the rubber isolator pads that come attatched to it. Fairly easy to get to....and get out. Easier than factory anyway....lol. The Vintage Air dryer is extremely small and tucks away nicely. I don't have mine yet....but have seen it in other vehicles. I'm not going to be using the vintage air condenser....but it also is small and more than efficient enough. I'm using a Flex-A-Lite radiator/fan/condenser assembly. I'm using the fabbed core support and all will work fine with my setup. If you still have the factory core support....I'm sure you can continue to use the factory replacement condenser though. Once I get he actual unit and bolt it all up....I'll be sure and get some more pics if you haven't already picked yours up by that time......

Much appreciated......and your welcome on the turbo. I had to get rid of it....as long as I had all that stuff I probably would have screwed up and bought another SyTy...lol
