Fall 2009 NE Sy/Ty meet, location poll thread!!

As you guys may know, we're trying to plan some sort of fall meet. Just get a bunch of people togather, hang out, shoot the shit, BBQ some lunch, and relax. We're also looking into maybe hitting a local dragstrip also.

We're trying to nail down a location. Here's some options! Please vote so we know what you're thinking...

Im down for where ever it is. lol, as long as its not too far away. Were you thinking eastern? midwest? South i wouldnt see because of the shindig, but thats not till next year too...

I picked Poconos because it's closer, it's more scenic, and I know Mike wants to do some birdwatching! :tup: I would just need some help with logistics. But if it ends up on State College, I'll try to make it. Pitts is just a bit too far for the fall.

i picked poconos because its closer but would do any of those options

saw the new poll picked everything but williamsport since i dont know where it is and i am to lazy to look it up

Just a thought but can you make the poll so you can vote for more then one place? Just thinking people who vote pitt wont go all the way to the Poconos but may be willing to go to State college and maybe add Williamsport to it also. Pocono voters may also be ok with a State college or Williamsport as a second option. Maybe a new poll would have to be done for that to work? I don't know. Just tell everyone to pick there first and second choices for if their first choice doesn't work out. I think that way we will get the highest number people to attend. I hope that made sense.

state college or the Poconos..

if it is in the Poconos I can handle calling the track and hopefully setting something up..

Island dragway rules, albeit a bit shady..


I'd also do any of the options, assuming i have spent the time and fixed my typhoon by then.

Yeah, I hear ya. Ummm, I don't think I can edit the poll. I could have Renz scrap the poll and start a new one? Or just post in here like you guys have been, saying what option or options you like.

I was really thinking Pittsburgh was going to be the place to have it. That's where all the NE Extravganza's were, but it's not getting many votes. State College might be the place, just because it is in the middle, and seems like a happy second choice for most people.

I'm in Central NJ so anywhere within 2 hours or so I would be game... Any longer of a drive I would want to leave my TY on the side of the road and walk home! :lol: That's of course if I can figure out the issue with my truck by then!

When it comes to the Poconos, that covers a lot of area. My parents live in the Poconos so I have a little bit of knowledge on the subject. I have never been to Island before, but I have heard many a horror story about the people who frequent this track. A lot of New York street racers and such (may be good to take some money home). But on a serious note, I have heard a lot of stories of stuff getting stolen at this track. Another track that I have heard decent things about is Numidia dragway. It is located just outside of Bloomsburg. I know there is a Hilton Garden inn that is fairly new right off the exit in Bloomsburg. Now this is a ways from Stroudsburg,(90 minutes) so I doubt we would maintain the meeting spot there, but it is more west than stroudsburg which would make the Pittsburgh guys happy and the New Jersey guys less happy. Just an idea for a different Poconos location.
