Add me to the list. Fuel pump going in on Monday. It's make or break time. If it doesn't solve issue, I'm out of time and will be at nats w/out the minty Ty. :(

(this song is a Guitar Hero classic )

Re: Last minute crew?

weekend started with 3 truck all needing something,

Tytanic was up on stands. Its now on the ground, code59 is installed and running good. 4 link needs some adjustment but I want Dennis to do that so he learns how for later.

My truck now has a accusump which is a cool little device. I now have instant oil pressure as soon as key is turned on. Got my hood and 1 cladding painted also, needs a lot of buffing yet but it has paint now.

Hardman silver triple intercooler ty is now, well triple intercooled. Turbo -> Air-Air -> Water-Air -> Meth Injection -> TB. Something a bit different see how it works. Exhaust is done now also. Just a few lines left to run.

So looks like we are going to be good.

Tow rig and trailer is cleaned and ready to start loading up also.

Re: Last minute crew?

Nothing killing me, but getting some last minute stuff in. Painted and swapped out the strait pipe for the muffler exhaust (had these made 2 weeks ago) so I can arrive with hearing intact.

Finally hooking up my PLX to the ecm, maybe I can get some code59 seat time before or at nats. I'd like to get my head around the basics enough to remember it for longer then 20 minutes.

I'll probably be pulling the driver's side RPM valve cover to replace the gasket and add RTV. Damn valve cover was visibly warped new (sigh), hoping that I can seal it up instead of reverting to the stock ones. Figures, that sides a bitch with the brake booster & alternator.

Will probably swap out my steering wheel too, either for the new stock one I have or a Momo, but I need to find a Momo adapter quickly.

And a probly wont happen, but want to: cut the service port out of the turbine housing where it mates up to Jeff's downpipe, considering how much of a pain this is I may not dig in that deep before the trip.

Re: Last minute crew?

I got the first coat of polyurethane down on the trophy bases about an hour ago. Painted parts of the Best Reaction time, Most Innovative Mod, Broken Truck and Best of Show trophies.

Earlier in the day, I pulled the radiator out of the BMW, powerwashed the underside of the engine and blow out all the crud and leaves that were trapped between the radiator and AC condenser. Then brought it in on the lift and replaced the accessory belts, replaced both front wheel bearings, drained the oil, epoxied the plastic cap on the overflow line, repaired some broken clips on the shroud, reinstalled & filled with coolant. Then fixed the remote oil canister bolts since the previous owner broken them off, and last but not least, tried to replace the wiper blades but since BMW is a bunch of buttholes and have to be different, the cool Michelin blades I picked up didnt fit :(

I gotta put oil in it tomorrow morning since WalMart only had 2 Quarts of Mobile 1 0w40, and finding an auto parts store open in my area on a Sunday is impossible.

With any luck, Ill be printing Nats t-shirts by 3pm tomorrow

Re: Last minute crew?

my ty is back on the ground.. fixed my steering wheel.. fixed a tranny leak (I think), noticed the vac actuator was digging into the lower radiator hose, swapped it out with a brand new one.... Did upper/lower balljoint on drivers side after that decided the ones in the passenger side are good enough.

need to pack everything up, put the front end back together..

Got Abby together last night.....truck fired right up!

Have to do two quick oil changes, button-up loose ends, and take her out for a few hundred miles of shakedown driving.

And what kind of beer do you like to drink?

Thats 2 guys doing basically engine rebuilds a week before nats and both trucks are now running. Impressive.

Re: Last minute crew?

Since we're leaving Tuesday (tomorrow) morning, we've "thrown in the towel", so to speak. The truck runs, but falls apart and stalls after a while, and we're out of time to work on it. We're towing it out, and I'll be looking for some folks that are smarter than me for some opinions. It's 99%, but I've been chasing the last 1% for a week now with no luck.

See everyone out there!

There should be enough people out there with a clue....and tools!

You might want to bring your own jackstands, however - many might be in use already!

Safe trip!

BTW - Oberon would be fine with me!
