LS powered SyTys

Re: LS powered SyTys

Great projects, to be sure. But none of them appear to be finished, or even running, much less sorted out. The Devil is in the details.......

The only one I know of that has run is eviltwin's. But it broke. And I haven't seen that it runs again. I guess Renz's runs. But based on his admissions [pride?] as to how long his other SyTy shit has been broken, I don't expect it to be running for long.

Mine has been running since the beginning of March. Been driving it to some local shows and am driving it to Nats. Yes driving it 650 miles, no trailer.

The 2 builds that impress me the most as far as being fully sorted out and running the numbers, within a reasonably quick build time, are Vengeance and Danimal/Speed Inc. Not surprisingly, both these builds had the full resources of reputable, professional shops behind their builds. These are not simple bolt-in swaps; they require sufficient resources ($$$), fabrication abilities and extensive general automotive knowledge to pull off successfully. 95xtreme, yours looks like its going to be a beast. To the rest of the privateers, keep on truckin! Major props to anybody who is able to accomplish this working nights and weekends in their garage. There have been so many times I wanted to throw in the towel and walk away, but I'm finally getting close enough now that I can see the results will be worth my efforts.

Basket Case Syclone here going TH400 trans with 3:08 front/rear diffs and LS1 single turbo

Planning on stock block/crank/good rods&Low comp. pistons.

Turbo Grind cam nothing big my old Buick 76GTQ Turbo.

Lots and lots of firewall/frame/suspension work. Planning on plenty of room to work on stuff.

Be a few years but it'll happen.
Should put over 1000whp.

Thanks, and thats the biggest problem with swaps of this kind is just sticking to it. My best friend completed a 5.3 swap into his s10 in 3 months or less, he built his own headers, mounts, wiring harness and so on. If you stay on any project and don;t just shove it aside for "a month or two," it normally gets done sooner then later.

Re: LS powered SyTys

I'm about 3/4 through my build. I am running a 5.3,4l80, and a gt76. I'll post pics later. I still have to finish my exhaust and wireing harness. Oh yes, I need more money.

Re: LS powered SyTys

It seems like the front accessories from the C5/C6 Corvettes are the most popular. But, has anybody tried TrailBlazer SS accessories? PS location seems similar to C5/C6 (except fluid tank is on the side instead of top mounted) I'm using the Edelbrock manifold, so it looks like the tighter TBSS alternator location will be okay. (Definitely would not work with a LS1/2/3/6/7 or LSx style manifold.) A/C is a non issue for me.
