i want to polish the compressor housing. If i take off the bolts on the back of it will the compressor housing just come right off? and will the rest of the turbo stay together?

Re: pte61

After you remove all the bolts, use a plastic hammer if you have one or a small block of wood to *lightly* tap the cover off. You will want to tap it off in a circular patten because there is a tiny o-ring between it and the center section that seals everything up.

If you need your truck not to be down, you might want to purchase an O-ring from PTE. Mine was stuck to the housing when I went to reclock it.

Re: pte61

could you use the high temp RTV in this case?

no the turbo is spinning at amazing speed so it's pretty well balanced, what would a small drop or leaf of rtv do with your wheel? and it's to think to have your housing alllignhed perfectly so the clearences are the same at all angles.
