He's gotta be real close to me... funny i've never seen the truck before. I might be up to take a look at it with you. My work schedule is kinda crazy right now though so I might not be able to swing it. Let me know when you find out a time :tup:

Oh, Mentor huh? I thought it would be near Cleveland somewhere. Yeah Mentor is about 40-50 mins away. Still let me know though and i'll see if I can make it.

I'm game for an outing if my schedule allows :). I work ten hour days now so, I wouldn't be able to get up there until later in the evening. I think if Sy-1177 and I both show up in our trucks, the BS meter is going to go to zero pretty quick...

At a quick glance, I'm a *little* concerned that it has a hitch on it. Hope the owner wasn't using it to tow his RV or boat. The crossover pipe is missing (turbo eat some of it before it was removed?) Battery looks like it has been relocated to the bed. Has a Mickey Mouse side mirror thing going on. And do you get a tonneau cover for what he's asking? I may have to give he seller a call tomorrow and get the skinny... Let us know when you wanna pow wow.

he has a cover.
he said it has a KB turbo and some other KB stuff. :oops:

battery relocate and said the front drive shaft was disconnected ( he said nothing was wrong with it or the transfer case.)

said he has almost all receipts for parts. and he said he also has a typhoon.


it would be cool to show up with some trucks to back me up. like you said the BS meter would go straight to zero.

even tho i have read these forums for years i still dont have any hands on with these trucks and would be nice to have some experts on the spot.

Cornwood ;). I live in Lagrange which is located in Lorain County. So is the seller a member on here? Did you get the truck number? That would help a lot... Kinda "funny" that he would remove the propshaft. Roasting the rear tires is fun in RWD (I know because I did if for about a week when I broke my stock proshaft while I was waiting for my Gilbert) but it's not good for the transfer case if it's done for extended lengths of time.

yeah that would be cool if i showed up with a convoy behind me. you would think i would almost have to buy it. lol.

im thinking either thursday or friday night im going to look at it, so if any of your sceduals are open let me know. like i said i would be great to have someone there to point out the details on what this guy has done to the truck. the last thing i want to buy is a ticking time bomb.

Ditto. I work until 5:30 and I'm over an hour an a half drive from Mentor. On top of that, my bud asked me to help him out with a fuel pump swap on an S10 after work tomorrow... How late are you planning on going out? It's never a good idea to look at a car in the dark. Friday is booked solid for me unless something changes.

Well, I spoke to the owner tonight and he has had the truck for a year. He bought it from someone in FL but he didn't remember who it was (he was really confused when I asked him who the FL owner was) or what the last four of the VIN number is. He got the truck repainted recently. He says that it has a shift kit, alarm, a BOV and plenty of KB stuff. The motor was supposedly replaced, if it has the *correct* motor or not would have to be confirmed. Truck still has the stock turbo though. Forgot to ask if he was the one who installed the hitch or not and what he towed if anything.

Guy didn't seem to know much about these trucks. Said that the propshaft wasn't installed on the truck when he bought it. Said that the guy he bought it from in FL told him that's what you have to do to make it run well at the track :roll:. Mentioned the typhoon that he had for sale too. He was confused why it had "syclone" on the top of the motor though... Hope that you can get someone to make it out with you who knows what to look for considering his asking price.

yeah the guy seemed like a dork on the phone.

but it cant hurt to look at it.
