Would anyone want to meet as a SyTy group? Of course we can go our separate ways but I was hoping to meet some of the local guys there. My Sy is on jack stands and is missing a turbo so I won't be bringing the Sy...

I think we will all be parked together, unless they have changed the classifications since the last time I was there.

I'm looking forward to this event. The last few SyTy related meets I missed out on. Maybe this time I won't have to work mandatory overtime on the weekend...would of liked to make it out to Renz garage day or whatever he called it...

ive always gone to the truck nats in carlisle for about 10 years now with the sy. this year im going to the gm nats. and really cant wait . we are leaving friday and staying till sunday hope too see a bunch of sy &tys. cant wait.

So you missed out on the crazy Import show. I think it was in 2005, it was so crazy they had to shut it down. Nothing but crazy kids in imports, people were getting naked and doing drugs. I still think it went down as the craziest car show of all time. :rotf: My wife taped over my vid of the show. No joke, at one point there was 5-6 hot chicks naked licking each other and having all out wild lesbian sex in front of everyone. The cops came and the show had to be shut down.

Its an import show, I would have most likely missed out it anyway, but I heard plenty about it and I think it was closer to 2002 actually.

according to a couple Mustang buddies of mine, all their show formats got changed as a result of that import show and just stuff in general. Parking, judging, and a couple other things became "messed up" from what I was told, their improvements did nothing but make it less desirable for those actually participating in the show.

Wow, I must be getting old :rotf: Your 100% right it was around 2002 because I was a Sr. in Highschool when this event went down. That show did mess it up for everyone else. Speaking of which my wife and I are getting ready to leave for our first class reunion. Wish the Syclone was finished...

i heard they restructured all the shows after that import fiasco, they wouldn't allow groups to park together if they were in different classes, and people who arrived "late" just got stuck wherever, for not other reason than they just didnt want friends to "carry on" together and possibly create chaos or some shit, or at least that was their excuse at the time.

I know of tons of people who have stopped going to Carlisle since 2002

well yes its not a beer blast any more and by me i really did not care for guys doing smoke shows 2ft from my sy. the crazyness was fun to watch but werry stupid also.you can have a verry good time there still . like i said have been going thare for the truck shows and have been to the corvette show. its a good show still to meet ,show hang out and tons of parts and good deals on tires & rims etc you name it.

Actually the catalyst to most of the changes, came after Chip Miller died in 2004 and his son took his place. They started running strictly as a business, not as a hobby, that made money, like Chip did. I'll be there, I buy a season pass, so it doesn't mater how many of the shows I go to.

I plan on heading up tomorrow morning after I get up and get the truck clenaed up. The one day this week i decide to take it for a spin and it gets rained on :tdown:
