Want to return Ty back to stock (someways!)

I just purchase #0234.
It is lowered, and has 17x9 wheels on it. I am looking for a set of stock wheels and ideas on getting it back to stock ride height. SHould I? Any ideas? I have experience with 2wd lowering/height adjustment, but with AWD, I see the blocks on the rear, but on teh front, how do you raise it? I know some might think stupid, but I want to get it back to a stock look rather than a low look.

On the front, follow the torsion bars back and you will see the porkchops with bolts. (about mid frame). Turning those bolts will raise and lower the truck. Take a measuring tape and measure the distance or gap between the top of the wheel and the bottom of the fender cladding to be eqaul on each side until you get it where you like.

It's that easy.

Should you? Its your truck...if you like the stock 4x4 look ride height, then thats your preference. I think a majority of people prefer lowered though. For the rear, you'll just have to remove the blocks.

There are bolts on the torsion bar crossmember (behine the trans crossmember) that control the torsion bar tension. You would have to crank those bolts tighter in order to raise the front. There's is a formula I just read about how to determain stock ride height but I don't remember it. It's in the alignment section of the service manual though.

Beat to it... Haha

Btw, these trucks ride rough lowered or at standard ride height. So if you're doing it to get better ride quality don't expect significant changes. If you're doing it for the look that's all a matter of taste and preference. Lowering the TY was the first thing I did when I bought it but that's just my taste...

So the ride sucks no matter what? ugh. Thats ok, I do like the look of it, just wanted a littel more stock appearance. It is to low for my taste, but it does look mean that way...:2cents:

At certain point the front ride height does degrade from hitting the bump stop regularly and the ball joints binding.

Rear Blocks tend to be harsher than the stock leaf spring and Belltech leaf springs/

You can also put 1" blocks on the rear and crank the front up 1".

That would be the 1.5" taped blocks correct? Doesn't someone on here sell those?
I might do that. It is to low right now, and I know from having lowered vehicles in the past, that the pinion angles get really messed up when they are lowered

Make sure you use new u-bolts on the rear. They stretch, and should be replaced when you take them off.
