My question is this, I have a guy I know at a body shop that wants to sell me 2 front fender for $50 a piece which I think is a very good price, but they are blazer fenders, fine by me. But I was wondering do they actually sell a Ty fender with the holes predrilled for the cladding? Thanks

Re: Fender question

The fenders will fit fine with a little adjusting. The holes are usually already drilled for the front arches.

Re: Fender question

Harmon so you are saying they sell a replacement fender that has the holes drilled for the front arch cladding?

Re: Fender question

Few years back when I had to replace my pass side fender, I got a new GM one. No drilling required. Bolted it up and put the cladding back on.

Re: Fender question

the holes should be there for the front because thats what holds the front inner fender correct? those bolts? the same?

There are 2 sets of holes. The ones for the fender well, and the small holes for the cladding tabs. The fender well does not hold in the cladding or vice versa.

Re: Fender question

Even aftermarket ones come with the holes pre-drilled. They are a little harder to adjust then the oem ones too. So far every aftermarket pass side fender ive seen doesnt come with the antenna hole either. Strange

not strange....its good....at least for me it was. I cant stand the antenna and its location. I was glad to see it not drilled. When I did have a radio, I installed one of those roll out stick on antennas along the upper edges of the windshield instead.

Re: Fender question

I put an aftermarket one on my truck and everything was the same. There were holes there for the cladding. The only diofference was the hole for the antenna was not there. Witch is cool cause antenna's are gay anyway.

Re: Fender question

Ok so I guess my ultimate question is this, since they are for a blazer will they work on the Ty or do I have to get ones for a Ty specific?

Re: Fender question

The holes that the cladding tabs line up with also line up with the chrome (2WD) and black plastic (4X4) moldings on regular Blazer/Jimmy. There is one screw-hole in the molding (in the center) that is round. The others are ovals. Installing the round-hole screw first ensures that the ovals will line up with the other holes. And in my experience, they do.
