fitting on front of block

There are two connectors on the front of the block, the first being the radiator return feed where the thermostat is located.

What is the second one to the side? It is just a hose fitting - I am guessing it goes to the heater core?

What size/thread is it ? I can't get mine out of my old lower so am going to have to order a replacement and can't find it in the parts manual.

Thanks,

Mark

Block end of the heater hose is a 1/2" npt x 5/8" hose barb, let me get a pic of it...

Edit, you mean this (#3)?

Re: fitting on front of block

that seems right mate :D

Pic would confirm but that is what I was after....

While on the subject, anyone know what size the oil return line is on the turbo at the the block?

What does that equate to in -AN fittings?

Re: fitting on front of block

That is the one SC - thanks for that.

As for the 8 AN on the oil return, I have a -8 hose from Turbo Time but I can't seem to get it into the oil pan. Any ideas what thread the fitting is? I have an NPT - JIC fitting but I am not sure of either of the sizes. I think it is 1" NPT but that seems too big for the fitting.

Thanks in advance. :)

Re: fitting on front of block

Thanks Dave - that would explain why my 1" NPT won't get in there.

I guess I'll trial and error it. I am amazed I am the only person to try and get an AN fitting in here - thought this would have been available on search by now! 2 hours last night and I found nothing!

Don't feel bad. I don't think most of them will come out, thats why all the lowers you see for sale still have them in it lol. I know mine wouldn't. I didn't want to break it or the intake getting it out so I sold it with it.

Re: fitting on front of block

Dave, as usual, outstanding.

The costs are pretty horrendous especially since the £ has fallen so badly. What I do is use a US address to get a bunch of parts all in one place then consolidate the shipping.

www.bongous.com arethe guys I use and so far they have been great.

I had a shipment last year that set me back $1500. That was just the shipping charges and believe me, that hurt.

It's a shame there isn't more stuff in Europe. Oh well.

I'll try the fitting but I think you're right. It doesn't say the part number in the manual or the SyTy supplement which is hugely annoying. At least on the other manulas it gives a description of the threads etc.

Anyway, am waffling. Thanks again Dave!

If anyone reads this and has a spare one around they wish to donate then I am their man

Thanks!

Re: fitting on front of block

Thanks mate but I don't need it. I was just saying that if it were in the manual then they have descriptions of all the threads and bolts and that way I could be sure of the thread. as it isn't in there I can't be sure so might have to do some trial and error.

I'm going to see if my calipers are around but I am sure the batteries are dead. Then I just need to work out the thread size. I have some shims for everything but metric and SAE/UNC/UNF :rotf:

Thanks for your help mate :D If you had 5 min I'm looking for and answer on my pinion angle and lowering blocks in the suspension forum

cheers!
