Thanks Mike for understanding me and letting me voice my opinion, I"m glad to know the trucks safe and I plan to forget about this thread and go back to enjoying the site and everyone's stories, truck pics, and tech.

Can't say I have been here long enough to really know everyone. I can say this though, after being on many different forums, I can honestly say this site has some of the least drama out of all of them. The corvette sites seem very clean and helpful to. I just I'm realizing though we should all try and help each other out because SyTys are rare. Its not like we have a lot of guys in the same area who can all hang out. At least in my part of PA I know of maybe 1 or 2 Tys and none of them are on the forum. From my experience people on here are very helpful. One of the members even let me take a cowl hood, clear turns, clear fogs without me paying him right away. I only paid him 40 bucks at the meet, and have been giving him payments since. Talk about trust, and I would never screw over anyone because someone did it to me before and it sucks.

After being around 11 or so years now, Ive come to realize that the trucks are just now an excuse to hang out with the guys Ive meet on here over the years. Anyone that comes or has been to a FAST meet soon realizes that the hardcores dont care much about the trucks anymore as we do just hanging out amongst ourselves and telling some funny stories. We moved past the "hey, we all own the same truck, so we gotta hang out" to "hey, hows the family, what are you up to this weekend, lets BBQ". The trucks just come as a secondary way to have fun.

yea, I understand what you mean. It is always nice to be able to get along with another family and have fun watching the kids run around and play. A good old BBQ never hurts either. I forget what meet it was, but it looked fun as hell. I think it was in FL. Was about 6 to 9 trucks and the vid shows everyone driving around. Some people were working on a truck together and it just looked like a good old time.

This is excatly how the GM-turbo6 group has been for the past few yrs. It has been like this well before we ever became a group it all started out by a few of us buick guys and a few sy-ty's guys hanging out at the lake and it was so much fun we have a meeting somewhere in the state just to hang out with guys that you have not seen in a few months and see some others that you just seen the month before but it seemed like it has been longer.

I got to go to KC2000 and i really enjoyed it. I hope that i get to have all the fun this yr as i did back in 00. Nctyphoon's crew (myself cheryl nikki and pete) were the talk of the meet as we got lost every time we left the parking lot! oh and the prank of the stickers and the upside down tags and all the sy/ty stickers all over the hotel and the lovely wedding that was going on that same sat and the bride hanging out with us in the parking lot.

sorry for my ranting but i was reliving the nats and i'm siked to go this yr and i even have a truck too!

FAST and SoCal need to team up again for more good pranks for Nats BG. When me, Sean Morris and Ian found the ice statue, it was only natural to grab it and take it to the hill on the side of the hotel and start sledding on it. I think it was Guy Lavys C16 we stole out of his truck to then light the ice on fire. Just for the record, it took some work to get that many tags off, turn upside down and back on. :p

I forgot who it was who handed me their brand new helmet to use when I jumped in the garbage can and lined it with the table cloth and had the great idea to roll myself down the loading dock ramp. Thank god I was wearing that helmet.....

Good times....good times.

well the old @$$ security gaurd coming out making brian green put out the flaming ramp he was jumping with the razor scooter. or the guy that had the knee high tube socks with the color rings climbing all the way tot he top of the pole light int he parking lot and him swinging on it like he was gorge of the jungle!. I'm sure that you guys worked pretty damn hard to get all them tags turned around.

I don't remember the ice statue burning.

I can still feel the pain of the knot i got on the back of my head from going street racing with aron and dean and somebody else when we had to make a mad dash from the cops and jumped the railroad tracks and my head smakced the back glass. if it had not been for the toneau cover being folded down about a foot for us just to sit there i do believe i would have landed in the street.

of course hanging with bryan and neil (buick guys) was fun too.

BTW what ever happened to the KAK

The last update I ever got was a pic of him hanging out and training to be a F18 Pilot. If you look, that black mark on his right leg is John Force's signature. No joke.

Re: Abuse of Power

T-bone....when did you become aware of the thread? Had you only just gotten word of it recently? You hadn't logged into the site for a month or so prior to it. Just curious if you let it play out before complaining....or if this was the first time you'd seen it.

Mike, I have had a couple days to cool down but I still do not feel the post was appropriate. New users can NOT inflate their posts, thus my reasoning an admin/mod was involved. It was constructed well because even I didn't notice the subtle difference in user characteristics.

I have stayed off the board since I learned of the PPG going up for sale because I was a serious bidder and didn't want to dramatize the details. After I let up at $48,500 and did not win it, I posted on here since (to a degree) I felt like I let a rare one slip away from the community. I could have bid more but my wife was not the least bit happy I went past $45,000 :). That is the same day (Saturday) I noticed the post in question.

You mentioned early regarding the dialogue between Jeremy and I, and the chuckles others got out of it. The difference there was he and I (Mike and Jeff) were man enough to stand behind what we posted. If either or any of us appeared as ignorant, it would have been our own fault BUT for someone to pose as me and run down my character on this board with possible and likely inside assistance, really peeved me. I would do what I could to help anyone on here out and I think my feedback supports that statement. To have some on this forum turn against me based on a thread someone else birthed, didn't set well with me.

I don't point the finger at those that responded aggresively. I wouldn't take too kindly to someone parting the PPG out either, even though to contemplate that borders rank stupidity. My beef is with whoever posted the thread and with any admin/mod that assisted them. I sure hope I don't find out that occurred and apologize to any/all that felt I over-reacted.

No you are correct, it did take a staff member to change the post # and the registration date, the way I read your post and the others in this thread was that T-Bones privlages or personal information (privacy) had been violated, but that is not the case.

Why?????? Why would a sensible staff member even lower his/her character and personal standard to meddle with a post count or registration date UNLESS they were fully aware of the intent from jump street to defamate me and thus, they elected to aid the OP in making the post appear as if I did it? Real mature.....

Re: Abuse of Power

That's cool (and actually ironically funny) that you were there and bidding. I sure didn't know you were there...and would be surprised if the 'vigilante' knew.

Referencing you vs jeremy...i was merely pointing out that, regardless of whether you stood behind what was said or not, that the entire thing could be portrayed as immature to others. It was merely me pointing out that even the mature get caught up in a moment, let down their guard, and have some fun...whether that fun be received as intended or not is another story. But, we've all contributed in having fun as some point. And everyone should. We really don't have enough to talk about around here to fill up everyone's time...unless we inject some humor into the mix too.

Its unfortunate that you took the whole thing as you did. I'm not implying you reacted wrongly or overreacted...just that it would have been great had you seen it through the eyes of humor only. It does seem like you have been able to laugh it off to some degree...and i am thankful for that.

I wasn't there. I opted for them to contact me to bid over the phone. They knew my limit so I really wasn't involved in the bidding however, if the bidding would have stopped at $42,000 (just throwing out a figure), then my counter bid would have been engaged until my maximum or final bid was reached or exceeded by another phone/on-line bidder OR one that was actually there. Since mine was exceeded on the floor, I didn't have much play. Hope that makes some sense.

So are you live on the phone with a bidder assistant as it rolls on the platform?
